Data analyst course fees in India run from effectively free (YouTube and self-study) to around ₹4.5 lakh for premium programmes and university degrees. For a structured, job-focused programme with live classes, mentorship and placement support, expect to pay between ₹50,000 and ₹1.5 lakh in 2026. This guide prices every tier, names what each provider actually charges, and sets out how to judge whether a fee makes financial sense.
Every competitor fee below was read on that provider’s own page on 24 September 2026 unless it is marked July 2026. Fees and ratings last checked September 2026; confirm current numbers with the provider before enrolling.
Fees by course type: what each band buys, and what it hides
| Course type | Typical fee | Duration | What you get | What is missing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free / self-study | ₹0 upfront | 6 to 12 months, often longer | The full syllabus, if you can find it | A syllabus, deadlines, feedback, job help |
| MOOCs and certificate exams | ₹1,000 to ₹15,000 | 2 to 6 months | Recorded videos, quizzes, a certificate | Anyone to ask, project review, placement |
| Self-paced programmes with support | ₹7,000 to ₹40,000 | 5 to 6 months | Graded projects, group doubt sessions, sometimes a conditional refund | Personal attention, portfolio-grade review |
| Online bootcamps and career tracks | ₹50,000 to ₹1,50,000 | 4 to 8 months | Live classes, 1:1 mentorship, real projects, placement support | A degree, and any value if you cannot attend live |
| Offline classroom institutes | ₹25,000 to ₹2,00,000 | 3 to 6 months | A room, a timetable, a peer group | Consistency: quality varies far more than price |
| Premium programmes | ₹1,80,000 to ₹4,00,000 | 6 to 12 months | Depth past analytics into data science and ML | Proportionality, if your target is an analyst role |
| University degrees and PG diplomas | ₹48,000 to ₹4,50,000+ | 1 to 4 years | A formal, permanent qualification | Speed, live teaching, placement drives |

| ExcelR, Newton School, Coding Ninjas, Henry Harvin, NareshIT, Croma Campus | Various | Various | No fee published anywhere on the page |
That last row is not an oversight. Seven of the twenty-five providers checked on 24 September 2026 show no price at all, and the number arrives only after a counsellor call, a webinar signup or a lead form. Coding Ninjas displays instalments “as low as ₹5,357 a month” with no tenure attached, which cannot be turned into a total. You cannot shortlist on price without first handing over your phone number, and the first figure a counsellor quotes is rarely the last one.
Free and self-study: what “free” actually costs
You can learn Excel, SQL and Python without paying a rupee. YouTube playlists, free documentation, Kaggle datasets and community forums cover the entire analyst syllabus if you know where to look.
The catch is that “free” hides real costs. Time, first: self-taught learners routinely take 9 to 12 months to cover what a structured course finishes in 4 to 5, and every extra month is a month of salary not earned. Then curation: without a syllabus, most people bounce between tutorials and never build the portfolio projects recruiters ask about. And nobody helps with the job hunt. Self-study works best as a filter: spend a month on free SQL and Excel tutorials before paying anyone for structure, using the syllabus of a structured SQL course as your map of what to cover.
Under ₹15,000: MOOCs and certificate exams
NPTEL, the IIT-run platform, lets you study analytics with Python free over about twelve weeks; ₹1,000 buys the proctored exam and the IIT-branded certificate. The Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate is ₹1,902 a month on Coursera as listed in September 2026, and Google says most learners finish in under six months at about ten hours a week, so finishing in three months costs under ₹6,000. Coursera Plus lists at ₹13,999 a year with frequent sale pricing, and DataCamp Premium is ₹599 a month billed annually.
What the money buys is well-produced content, practice datasets and a certificate that proves you showed up. What it does not buy is everything that gets people hired: nobody corrects your SQL joins, tells you your dashboard is unreadable, or answers at 11 pm when an assignment breaks. Completion rates in this band are low for that reason, and a recorded certificate rarely gets an Indian fresher shortlisted on its own.
₹15,000 to ₹40,000: self-paced programmes with some support
This band adds accountability: recorded content plus scheduled doubt sessions, graded projects and a recognised certificate. PW Skills sells the same five-month syllabus at ₹6,999 fully recorded, ₹29,999 with live weekend sessions and ₹34,999 with mentorship and five interview opportunities conditional on clearing its own employability test, with a non-refundable ₹10,000 registration fee on the two higher plans, as listed in September 2026. Internshala’s Data Analyst Placement Course is ₹34,999 against a ₹40,000 list price for six months, as listed in July 2026, with a refund promise attached.
What is missing here is depth of attention. A doubt session with sixty people on the call is not mentorship. Read the refund terms closely too: Internshala’s published conditions require 75% attendance, a 75% score, seven job applications a week and no skipped interviews. Miss one condition and the promise quietly lapses.
₹50,000 to ₹1.5 lakh: live classes, mentorship and placement support
This is the tier most serious career switchers end up in, and where the price-to-outcome maths tends to work best. Programmes run 4 to 8 months, teach live rather than through recordings, assign real projects, and put a placement team behind you.
SkilloVilla sits in this band. Current fees:
| SkilloVilla track | Fee |
|---|---|
| Data Analytics with Python (online) | ₹71,999, currently ₹58,999 |
| Data Analytics with Generative AI (online) | ₹84,999, currently ₹71,999 |
| Data Analytics Classroom Program (Bengaluru) | ₹1,49,999, currently ₹1,19,999 |
| Data Analytics Classroom Program with Generative AI (Bengaluru) | ₹1,69,000, currently ₹1,39,000 |
| Data Science & AI | ₹1,01,999, currently ₹89,999 |
The online Data Analytics track runs 4 to 5 months of live classes with 1:1 mentorship from working analysts, real business projects, and placement support through the job hunt. Scholarships are available based on candidate profile; ask admissions what applies to you before you budget.
Within the same band, AccioJob charges ₹65,000 online or ₹70,000 for its classroom batch over six months, Bosscoder Academy ₹1,11,999 over six months with four live classes a week, and AlmaBetter ₹88,500 all in over 6 to 8 months as listed in July 2026. Comparing inside this tier comes down to three specifics: are the classes actually live, who exactly mentors you (working analysts or teaching assistants), and what does placement support concretely include.
What the money buys, in one word, is correction. A mentor who has done the job looks at your work and tells you what a hiring manager will think of it. That feedback loop is why the fee jumps from ₹35,000 to ₹60,000 and beyond. It will not give you a degree, and it rewards people who show up: if you can only study in scattered twenty-minute windows, a live programme is the wrong purchase at any price.
Fees after placement, and what to read before you sign
A handful of providers let you pay little or nothing upfront and settle once you are earning. It is a real option, and it is not automatically cheaper.
Masai School charges nothing upfront on its six-month analytics programme, with repayment tied to your salary, as listed in September 2026: nothing below ₹3.5 LPA; ₹6,944 a month for 36 months, ₹2,50,000 in total, between ₹3.5 and ₹4.99 LPA; ₹9,722 a month for 36 months, ₹3,50,000 in total, between ₹5 and ₹9.99 LPA; and ₹15,000 a month for 30 months, ₹4,50,000 in total, at ₹10 LPA and above. No offer within a year of finishing and you pay nothing. Masai publishes no direct upfront price for this course.
NxtWave prices the same choice openly on its Intensive programme: ₹90,000 prepaid, or ₹49,000 plus 12% of your first-year CTC postpaid, as listed in July 2026, with a ₹16,000 scholarship shown. Run that arithmetic on a ₹6 lakh offer and the postpaid route comes to ₹1,21,000 against ₹90,000 upfront. AccioJob runs a pay-after-placement model company-wide, though on the September 2026 check it was shown against its Full Stack Development course at ₹2,40,000 after placement or ₹75,000 upfront over twelve months, not against its Data Analyst course. Internshala’s refund promise is a different mechanism again: you pay upfront and get money back only if you meet its conditions.
Four clauses decide whether any of this is a good deal, and they are rarely on the landing page. What salary threshold triggers repayment. How long the term runs. What counts as a job, and whether a contract or internship role starts the clock. What happens if you decline an offer you do not want. Get all four in writing, because the totals in Masai’s middle tier, as listed above, are several times what a live mentored track costs paid upfront.
SkilloVilla has no pay-after-placement or income-share option. Fees are paid upfront, with scholarships based on candidate profile.
₹25,000 to ₹2 lakh: offline classroom institutes
Classroom training in metros spans a wide range, and quality varies far more than price does. Some institutes are excellent; plenty are recorded-video shops with a rented classroom. In Bengaluru alone, Inventateq lists ₹24,999 for about ninety days as listed in July 2026, while ExcelR and Besant Technologies publish no fee at all. upGrad runs offline centres in twelve cities at typically around ₹99,000 over four months, their phrasing, also as listed in July 2026.
SkilloVilla’s classroom programme in JP Nagar, Bengaluru is ₹1,49,999, currently ₹1,19,999, and the centre holds a 4.8 Google rating; a second centre is launching in Jaipur in September 2026. The premium over the ₹58,999 online track buys in-person instruction and a physical peer group, which for anyone who has abandoned an online course before is the difference between finishing and dropping out. If you are disciplined online, the online track delivers the same curriculum for less than half the price.
₹48,000 to ₹4.5 lakh: degrees and the premium tier
The formal-education route has one standout option: the IIT Madras online BS in Data Science and Applications. As listed in July 2026, the foundation level costs ₹48,000, leaving with a BSc runs ₹2,86,000 to ₹3,10,000, and the full BS totals ₹3,86,000 to ₹4,50,000, paid per term with an exit point at each level. It is a genuine IIT credential at a fraction of campus cost. The trade-offs are time, three to four years, and format, largely self-paced with proctored exams rather than live mentored teaching.
At the top of the private market sit Imarticus at ₹1,83,000 for six months and Scaler at ₹3,99,000 for twelve, both as listed in September 2026, and both extending well past analyst skills into data science and machine learning. Analysts get hired on SQL, Excel, Python, a BI tool and business judgement, all of which the ₹50,000 to ₹1.5 lakh tier covers. For an analyst role this tier means paying for months of content your first job will not use, plus a year of your time.
What actually drives the price difference
Strip away marketing and four factors explain almost every fee gap in this market.
- Live versus recorded teaching. Live classes cost real instructor hours every cohort; recordings cost almost nothing to re-serve. This single factor separates the ₹5,000 tier from the ₹50,000 tier.
- Mentorship. Scheduled 1:1 time with working analysts is the most expensive thing a course can offer, because it cannot be automated.
- Placement support. Mock interviews, CV reviews and referrals require a placements team on payroll. Courses without one are cheaper for a reason.
- Brand and certification. An IIT or big-university name adds ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh over an equivalent private curriculum, and it is often not what gets you shortlisted.
Notice what is not on that list: curriculum topics. Nearly every course at every price teaches Excel, SQL, Python and a BI tool. You are paying for how it is taught and what happens after, not for the syllabus.
The costs nobody puts on the pricing page
- A working laptop. 8 GB of RAM at minimum, 16 GB to be comfortable. If your machine is a decade-old hand-me-down, add ₹35,000 to ₹60,000.
- GST. Some providers quote fees exclusive of 18% GST, which is how AlmaBetter’s ₹75,000 becomes ₹88,500. Ask whether the number quoted is the number you pay.
- Exam and retake fees, charged separately by some certification-linked programmes. NPTEL’s ₹1,000 exam is the honest version of this.
- Non-refundable registration. PW Skills charges ₹10,000 on its two higher plans, and it does not come back.
- Upsells mid-course, where a “placement pack” or “advanced module” appears as a paid add-on halfway through. Get the inclusions in writing.
- Opportunity cost. A twelve-month programme delays your first salary by seven to eight months against a four to five month one, which usually costs more than the fee difference between any two courses here.
Before you pay: seven questions, and five reasons to walk
Counsellors are salespeople. Good ones answer these directly; evasive answers are your cue to leave.
- Is the quoted fee inclusive of GST, and are there paid add-ons later?
- What exactly does placement support include, and for how long after the course ends?
- Who teaches the live classes, and what do they do outside teaching? Ask for names and LinkedIn profiles.
- What is the refund policy if I withdraw in week 2? Week 6? In writing.
- How many students are in a live batch, and how much 1:1 mentor time do I get a month?
- Can I speak to two recent alumni who were placed, without the counsellor on the call?
- If there is a scholarship, what determines the amount, and does it really expire today?
Five things that should end the conversation.
- Countdown discounts. Genuine scholarships depend on your profile and stay valid while you decide.
- Vague refund terms. If the policy is not in the enrolment agreement, it does not exist.
- Promises with buried conditions. Refund-if-not-placed and pay-after-placement offers both run on attendance thresholds, score minimums and weekly application quotas.
- A fee quoted only after a “free counselling session”. Hiding the price until you are on a call buys them a captive audience.
- A loan pushed in the first conversation, before you have seen the curriculum.
Does the fee pay for itself?
Run the numbers against a realistic starting salary, not the best case in an advertisement. Our data analyst salary breakdown sets out the entry bands from named sources. SkilloVilla reports alumni packages between 4 and 15 LPA, a median of 9.5 LPA and a highest of 32 LPA, at companies including Deloitte, Flipkart, Razorpay, Zomato, Swiggy and Mu Sigma; the alumni transitions show what that path looks like in practice.
Against those outcomes a ₹58,999 fee is roughly three weeks of gross salary at the median package. The real risk is not overpaying by ₹20,000 for one course over another. It is paying anything at all for a course that does not get you hired, which is why placement support and verifiable outcomes should weigh more than a ₹10,000 price difference. We put the wider version of that question, whether a course is worth it at all, through the same test.
Two sanity checks before you pay anyone, us included. Our ratings and alumni outcomes are laid out in full, so you can apply the same scrutiny to us that we ask you to apply elsewhere. Ask for named companies where recent students were placed, not percentages. And ask to sit in on one live class; five minutes of real teaching tells you more than any brochure.
One honest caveat: if you want a formal degree on your CV, or you learn best fully self-paced with no schedule, a bootcamp like SkilloVilla is the wrong purchase. Take the IIT Madras route or the MOOC route instead.
Scholarships and reducing the fee
Most providers in the bootcamp tier discount from list price, so never treat the first quoted number as final. SkilloVilla offers scholarships based on candidate profile; contact admissions for payment options. Coursera has financial aid on individual courses, Google distributes scholarships in India with NASSCOM Foundation, Tata STRIVE and Safeducate, and IIT Madras offers fee waivers for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Timing helps too: Coursera runs deep sales several times a year, and cohort-based programmes are often more flexible close to a batch start date.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a data analyst course cost in India?
Anywhere from free to about ₹4.5 lakh in 2026. MOOC certificates cost ₹1,000 to ₹15,000, self-paced programmes with support ₹7,000 to ₹40,000, online bootcamps with placement support ₹50,000 to ₹1.5 lakh, classroom institutes ₹25,000 to ₹2 lakh, and premium programmes and degrees up to ₹4.5 lakh. For most career switchers the bootcamp tier balances cost and job outcome best.
What is the fee for SkilloVilla’s data analyst course?
The online Data Analytics with Python track costs ₹71,999, currently ₹58,999, the Data Analytics with Generative AI track costs ₹84,999, currently ₹71,999, the Bengaluru classroom programme costs ₹1,49,999, currently ₹1,19,999, and its Generative AI variant costs ₹1,69,000, currently ₹1,39,000, with fees last checked in September 2026. All tracks include live classes, 1:1 mentorship from working analysts and placement support. Scholarships are available based on candidate profile.
Is the Google Data Analytics certificate enough to get a job in India?
Usually not on its own. It costs ₹1,902 a month on Coursera as listed in September 2026 and teaches solid fundamentals, but it offers no live teaching, mentorship or placement help, and Indian recruiters see thousands of applicants holding it. Treat it as a low-cost starting point, not a complete plan.
Are free data analyst courses worth it?
Yes, as a starting point. Free resources cover the full analyst syllabus and are the cheapest way to test whether you enjoy the work. The hidden costs are time, since self-study typically takes 9 to 12 months against 4 to 5 in a structured course, and the absence of portfolio feedback and placement support, which is where most self-taught learners get stuck.
Why do live courses cost so much more than recorded ones?
You are paying for people, not content. Working analysts teaching live, mentors reviewing your individual work and a placement team running mock interviews all cost real salary money per student, while recorded content costs almost nothing per additional learner. That is why the cheap band is cheap, and why nobody reviews your work in it.
Is paying after placement cheaper than paying upfront?
Usually not in total. Masai’s published schedule charges ₹3,50,000 on an outcome between ₹5 and ₹9.99 LPA, and NxtWave’s postpaid route works out dearer than its own ₹90,000 prepaid price on a ₹6 lakh offer, both as listed in 2026. What the model genuinely removes is the risk of paying before you earn. Compare the total against the outcome you realistically expect, and read the salary threshold, the term and the definition of a job before you sign.
What should I budget beyond the course fee?
Add a capable laptop if you do not have one (₹35,000 to ₹60,000), check whether GST is included in the quoted figure, and ask about exam, retake and non-refundable registration charges. Then weigh the time cost: a longer programme delays your first salary, which usually matters more than a ₹20,000 difference in fees.
Compare the fee against the outcome, not the brochure
If you are weighing the ₹50,000 to ₹1.5 lakh tier, look at what sits behind the fee: live classes, who mentors you, and what placement support actually includes. The SkilloVilla Data Analytics track costs ₹71,999, currently ₹58,999, and runs 4 to 5 months of live classes with 1:1 mentorship from working analysts. SkilloVilla reports alumni placed at Deloitte, Flipkart, Razorpay and Zomato with packages between 4 and 15 LPA. Talk to the admissions team, ask the seven questions above, and check whether a scholarship applies to your profile before you decide.
